I believe this is the flesh fly which means they are scavengers!
I have a few shots of them and I thought to give the post processing a slightly different twist this time around.
Taken with Nikon D40 and 105mm.

this is nice. looks like the fly is about to jump off a cliff. lovely orange detail against the blacks. is the leaf really black? is that a leaf? lovely detail on the cliff/leaf.
seems like you're really taking your friend's composition recommendation to heart.
@steph Haha i used selected desaturation to bring out the orange eyes :)
and well, i try because his recommendation makes sense hehe..
